Big John Nu 000

For years I know Big John as a DJ from Love Injectionsound and felt he was one of the best in the country and in the world. Then one day later in life after helping build some 16 pirate and internet radio stations over decades, we got a call, the big man whom we had mad respect for, wanted our talents to build him a radio station.
So we did. After a meeting or few, the concept of Tellstream Dem was born.
It was simple, I would do the visuals and support the technicals and Cecil would be responsible for the technical side so it was strong and worked.
The greatest thing for me was the trust to help make something so big become a reality and it be backed by people who did it for the love.
7 years I worked with Big John. Sadly for us both, a time came where it had to end, we struggled with me walking away and feelings were up in the air but it was neither of us behind it.
Big John supported this lil white man put his heart into pushing reggae music and be me myself doing it. In a way I threaten Big John, don’t get it twisted, the threat was that he come to my lil studio and we build som music.
That in itself was a dream come true, for us both. The youtube riddim we build within not even 30 minutes, stood next to each other playing keyboard an building, with a fat skliff or so each, 12 or so artists jumped the riddim. It was mind blowing, from people like reggae stars Christopher Hawkeye Smith, Delly Ranx, the great Tanto Metro and Devonte, Gappy Ranks and more.
Every artist that rolled in on the riddim was a jaw dropping moment for me. To hear Big John play the riddim at 3am on the radio, you saw a ultimately rare thing, not only was he at the top of his game, fully natural and locked to the thing, the passion and love for these moments was very visible to me, you could hear it in his voice. I still have the recording on my youtube when Gappy Ranks asked us to forward the riddim at 3 or 4am and he would send back a tune in an hour.
An hour later, I experienced a musical moment in my life that literlaly blew me away and it was me one in my studio at 5am locked on with many people from all over the world. Gappy sent John the tune. I’ll never forget. Ever. I have goosebumps writing this now. If you wanna hear what happened, you need to be good at searching my youtube channel. it’s still there.
Of 30 years in rehhae music, that was my moment, my dream come true. Nothing much would ever come close.
